The Initial Visit
At your first visit we are given the opportunity to meet you and introduce ourselves. We provide a complimentary examination, answer your questions, and address your concerns. We will spend as much time as necessary to explain the nature of the orthodontic problem and give recommendations.
The Records
Diagnostic records are necessary to determine the best course of treatment. They can be taken at the initial visit to save you time and an extra trip. Complete diagnostic records typically include plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays.
Patient FormsHelp us be prepared for your first visit by completing the patient information form prior to your first visit. Download the file, print it out, fill it out, and bring it with you to your first vist. |
The Consultation Visit
The records information is used by the doctors to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. After the records are evaluated, we meet with you for a consultation to discuss the diagnosis and the cost of treatment.
Orthodontic Fees and Payment Plans
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the orthodontic problem. Fees and payment options are discussed at the consultation visit before treatment begins. There are many payment options and payment plans available. We will work with you to make treatment affordable.
Insurance
If you have dental insurance, there may be an orthodontic benefit attached to it. Most companies allow a lifetime maximum limit in the $1000 to $2000 range for each person within a certain age limit. Companies help to "pay down" the orthodontic fee by sending payments until the lifetime limit is reached. Checks received are credited to your account. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. The insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can to file your claim and handle insurance questions, but payment of the orthodontic fee is your responsibility and not that of the insurance company.
Office Hours and Appointment Times
Our office is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The appointment to place most appliances lasts from 1 to 2 hours. Adjustment appointments are 15 to 30 minutes and are made at regular 4 to 8 week intervals. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you must cancel an appointment, please notify us immediately.
